Greece and Kazakhstan are working towards signing a Memorandum of Understanding, which will focus on strengthening ties between the two countries in the tourism sector. Greek Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura and the Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Athens, Alexei Volkov, in a recent meeting discussed on ways to increase flights between the two countries, thus ensure tourist flows all year round. Minister Kountoura also received the Ambassador of Qatar in Athens, Abdulaziz Ali Al-Naama, and discussed plans to introduce and promote new Greek destinations to travelers from Qatar. Qatar Airways, the national air carrier of Qatar, offers three daily direct flights from Athens to Hamad International Airport in Doha. In a recent interview to the Greek Travel Pages (GTP), Theresa Janet Cissell, Country Manager for Greece and Cyprus, said that the airline aims to attract tourism from its global network to visit Greece and experience the dynamic culture, not only during summer but year round.
