Porto Carras Grand Resort Collects Five Hospitality Distinctions

The Porto Carras Grand Resort in Halkidiki received five distinctions at the Greek Hospitality Awards 2017 ceremony, held recently in Athens.

In its third year, the Greek Hospitality Awards rewarded excellence in Greece’s hotel sector in the categories of Best Greek City Hotels, Best Greek Resorts and Best Greek Hotel & Resort Facilities.

Recognized as the ideal golf destination, the Porto Carras Grand Resort received the “Best Greek Golf Resort” award due to its 18-hole golf course and facilities. The resort every year hosts the Porto Carras Pro-Am & Open, contributing to the efforts being made to promote Greece as a destination for major golf tournaments. The 8th Porto Carras Pro-Am & Open will take place from April 27 to May 1.

The resort also received the “Best Greek MICE Resort” award for its state of the art congress facilities, which can host 6,500 participants; the “Best Greek Casino Resort” award for the casinos of its five-star hotels Sithonia and the Meliton Prive – Meliton; the “Best Greek Hotel Marina” award for the Porto Carras Marina and the “Best Greek Beach Resort” award for its 9km coastal area, consisting of 25 private bays.

The resort’s distinctions carry on as Porto Carras also received four awards at the Tourism Awards 2017: two Gold Tourism Awards as the “Best Luxury Resort” and “Best Golf Resort” and two Silver Tourism Awards in the “Spa Resort” category and in the “Gastronomy and Wine Tourism” category.
