The operation of shops on Sundays is among the reforms brought to the table by Greece’s international lenders and that the government has agreed to implement.

Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, Papadimitriou said that it has been agreed for shops to operate a few extra Sundays a year, mainly in tourist areas such as the center of Athens, in the beach area around Sounio, in some areas of Piraeus, in Thessaloniki and around Athens International Airport.

The minister said the measure is expected to be voted in parliament by April 15.
