As the interest of Serbians for Greek destinations is increasing, tourism officials estimate that 2017 will be a record year in terms of arrivals from Serbia. Tour operators and journalists had the opportunity to visit the island’s main sites of attraction, including the chapel of Aghios Ioannis of Kastri, where scenes of “Mamma Mia” where filmed. The fam trip also included visits to the island’s stunning beaches and picturesque villages. “Arrivals from Serbia to Skopelos are expected to rise during this year’s summer season, following the increasing interest and positive feedback we received during the international travel exhibition ‘Sajam Turizma 2017’ held last February in Belgrade,” said George Michalis, General Director of Spyrou Philoxenia. Travel operator “Dolphin of Skopelos” provided guests with transportation services, while their meals were offered by local taverns “Kymata”, “Louki” and “Paradosiaki Gonia” in collaboration with the Municipality of Skopelos. Guests stayed at the Rigas Hotel in the town of Skopelos. The trip also included a visit to the Women’s Cooperative in the town of Glossa, where guests got a taste of the island’s traditional hand-made sweets. Spyrou Philoxenia is currently operating five properties on the island of Skopelos, while also managing sales and reservations for a number of local enterprises. Affiliate Member hotels include Kaimak Inn in Kaimaktsalan, Central Macedonia – Greece, Chania Hotel, Chania Palace, Aglaida Hotel & Apartments, and Iris Guesthouse in Pelion, Archontiko Kaltezioti and Nymfasia Arcadia Resort in Arcadia, Peloponnese, and Rigas Hotel Hotel Agnanti in Alonnisos.
