The Katogi Averoff will be opening its winery to mark the “Open Doors” happening over the weekend of May 27-28, inviting wine lovers to indulge in a series of intoxicating wine and dine experiences.

An initiative of the European Network of Wine Cities (RECEVIN), the event includes vineyard, production area and wine cellar tours, wine tasting sessions and many more surprises at wineries across Greece.

Katogi Averoff, a member of Aria Hotels,  will be opening the doors to its historic winery from 11am to 7pm on both days giving visitors the chance to sample some of its finest wines including red, white and rosé varieties.

Wine-lovers will also have the opportunity to tour the winery and with the aid of audiovisual media learn more about the winemaking process as well as about the history of the region and of Metsovo in particular.

Sunday will feature an outdoor music event to accompany plenty of food and drink.

In the meantime, the 5th Ursa Trail competition will also be held on May 28 featuring 40km and 20km races. Katogi Averoff is a sponsor of the event in efforts to promote the region.

Family-owned, Aria Hotels is a small boutique hotel chain with accommodation facilities on Crete, the Cyclades and Epirus.

“Open Doors” at wineries across Greece run between 11am and 7pm. Admission is free.
