A dinner was held at Makedonia Palace in the presence of General Manager Alkis Sotiriou and Director of Sales Eva Saringala. The northern city of Thessaloniki remains a popular destination for Britons, due to its numerous sites of attraction, its multicultural features and the local cuisine, the chairman of the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) Noel Josephides recently said. Photo Source: Municipality of Thessaloniki During a two-day visit in Central Macedonia and Thessaloniki in particular, Josephides met with Thessaloniki Tourism Organization president Voula Patoulidou and discussed issues related to the city’s tourism infrastructure and services, according to an announcement. “Thessaloniki is trendy”, Josephides said and underlined that the city’s officials should promote its advantages. “It is a multicultural city, with exceptional locations, an ideal atmosphere, a great cuisine, attractive to tourists but it is also confronted with problems, such as the lack of parking spaces and the sanitation conditions, which need to be improved.” Moreover, Josephides spoke highly of the Organization’s efforts and of its president Voula Patoulidou to promote Thessaloniki as a tourist destination.
