Children’s Museum of Indianapolis to Honor Greece

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, one of the most popular museums in North America, is planning to honor Greece by hosting an exhibition under the title “Take me there: Greece”, starting in 2019 and for a period of four years, an announcement by the Greek Tourism Ministry said.

The exhibition will focus on contemporary Greece and will provide visitors with information on the Greek history, culture, traditions, everyday life and activities and places of attraction.

The Greek Minister of Tourism, Elena Kountoura, recently received the Museum’s representatives in Athens, including chairman and CEO Dr. Jeffrey Patchen and vice president Jennifer Pace Robinson. Discussions focused on the upcoming scheme and future possible collaborations.

Kountoura expressed her warm support in promoting the initiative, as she underlined it would showcase and dynamically promote Greece, its culture and the Greek tourism in the U.S., which is one of Greece’s priority markets within the framework of its national tourism policy.

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis every four years is hosting an exhibition dedicated to a foreign country, in collaboration with foreign institutions and academics. China is currently the honored country with the exhibition, “Take me there: China”. With premises of 472,900-square feet, more than 120,000 artifacts and over 1 million visitors each year, the museum is considered among the largest of its kind in the world.
