The island of Ios, located in the Cyclades, will be featured in an episode of the Mexican TV show, “Destinos del Mundo”, broadcast on Mexico Travel Channel and international TV platforms, such as Canal+.

According to an announcement by the Municipality of Ios, a seven-member TV crew is currently filming on the island with Anette Asbun, a renowned TV hostess in Latin America. The “Destinos Del Mundo” will feature Ios’ archaeological sites, stunning beaches, luxurious accommodation facilities, sea sports activities, gastronomy and nightlife.

The show will present the island’s main sites of attraction to a global market of 22 million high income viewers, who mostly travel to Central and North America, in the U.S., in Spain and Portugal, the announcement said.

“The feeling of luxury derives from the unique experiences offered to visitors ,” said Angela Fakou, president of the Municipality’s Tourism Committee, noting that these experiences pave the way for Ios to enter the luxury travel market.

The show is also popular in social media and has thousands of friends and followers. Furthermore, its episodes are repeatedly broadcast – more than four times in a year.

The Mexican TV crew was hosted on Ios upon the Municipality’s initiative, with the support of the Region of North Aegean and tourism consulting company Re:Make.
