The garden of the Megaron-Athens Concert Hall, one of the capital’s main oasis of green located in the heart of the city, this summer will host numerous cultural events, including jazz concerts and an exhibition of contemporary art.

Events kick off on European Music Day, on June 21 with performances for children and adults by the Santa Barbara Guitar Orchestra and Marita Paparizou, the “Little Musicians” children’s choir of the Athens Conservatory and musicians of the Athens State Orchestra.

The program of events will last until September and includes two reading festivals: The “Odyssey Marathon Reading” will be held on September 15 by “Elliniko Theatro”, an international performing arts organization based in New York and Athens and the “Readers of Homer”, a company that produces all-day or all-night audience participation readings of “The Iliad” or “The Odyssey”. The Athens International Poetry Festival will take place on September 18-23 with the participation of 70 poets from Greece and abroad.

Apart from cultural events, Megaron’s garden is the ideal place to relax or enjoy a drink, a snack or a meal in its “hidden” corners, at the “Secret Garden” cafe or at“ the Mama Fuga” Restaurant.

Prebooking for June’s and July’s events has started. For more information on the upcoming concerts and festivals press here.
