Photo © Heracles Kritikos / Shutterstock The Medieval Castle of Molyvos on the Greek island of Lesvos will remain closed for 10 working days, the Culture Ministry said on Sunday. Following the magnitude 5.2 aftershock that hit Lesvos on Saturday night, slight damages to the inner side of the entrance of the castle have been recorded. The castle of Molyvos is located on the north part of the island, in the province of Ancient Mithymna. For safety reasons, the castle will remain closed for the Culture Ministry to repair the damaged sections. According to the ministry, within 10 working days the castle is expected to reopen to the public. The eastern Aegean island of Lesvos was rocked on Monday, June 12, afternoon by a strong earthquake, measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale. Worst-hit by the earthquake was the southern village of Vrisa as some 80 percent of the homes and buildings have suffered severe damage.
