Green Destinations, an organization that supports tourism destinations to become more sustainable, has signed an exclusive licence agreement that allows AXSIOS to operate its Green Destinations Certification and Awards program in Greece, Serbia, Turkey and Israel.

Based in the UK, AXSIOS is a new company aiming to offer tourist destinations – through local and regional authorities – support by locally-based experts.

AXSIOS’ team has undergone auditor-advisor training at Green Destinations and is now fully qualified to back tourist destinations in advancing towards higher quality and better sustainability. The Green Destinations criteria are recognized by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) and the program is considered among the most accessible and affordable.

Besides Greece, Serbia, Turkey and Israel, AXSIOS also represents Green Destinations on a non-exclusive basis in Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania, Albania, Bosnia, Montenegro, Kosovo, FYROM, Cyprus, Malta, Morocco and Egypt.

With an extensive network of partners in more than 12 countries in South East Europe, AXSIOS offers consulting services focusing on sustainable tourism integration and is currently developing innovative technologies for sustainable tourism via B2B, B2C to B2P.

The Green Destinations Certification & Awards program has been developed on the basis of leading international criteria to measure, monitor and improve the sustainable management of entire destinations, islands and regions.
