Launched in 2016, the Cyclades Trail Cup is an event that aims to bring all Greek island races under a single roof in efforts to more effectively promote sports tourism of the Cyclades’ isles as well as local culture and traditions. Within the framework of the collaboration with National Geographic Greece, a promotional television spot has been produced to promote the organization of the Cyclades Trail Cup and its six races for 2017 that will take place on the islands of Naxos, Amorgos, Syros, Andros, Donousa and Tinos. The first race, Naxos Trail Race, took place on May 1 and will be followed by the Syros City Trail on September 2, the Amorgos Trail Challenge on September 16 & 17, the Andros Trail Race on October 1, the Donousa Mountain Run on October 28 and the Tinos Challenge on December 2 & 3. “The channel of National Geographic supports the effort of the Cyclades Trail Cup and portrays our islands as a destination for sports and alternative tourism,” the organizing team of the Cyclades Trail Cup said in an announcement.
