With its Sustainability Program being the main pillar of its operation, Creta Maris’ annual activities focus on the improvement of its hospitality services and working conditions, the protection of the environment and the provision of information in order to raise public awareness on environmental issues. “The ‘Platinum level GreenLeader’ award is one of the most important distinctions of a particular value, which proves that the resort is committed to sustainability and has met a set of environmental standards developed by TripAdvisor,” Creta Maris said in an announcement. TripAdvisor’s “GreenLeaders Program” showcases a variety of eco-friendly hotels and B&Bs, from budget to luxury, which are committed to green practices like recycling, local and organic food and electric car charging stations. The program was developed in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Program and the U.S. Green Building Council, among other leading environmental organizations. The Creta Maris Beach Resort is located near Heraklio on the island of Crete. It is offering high quality all inclusive services in a tranquil environment, combining the Aegean architecture with nature and the Cretan hospitality.
