Held annually in Greece by Athinorama and AlphaGuide magazines, the “Toques d’Or” evaluate and reward the country’s restaurants for their performance in high cuisine. Food connoisseurs, industry leaders, brand ambassadors and gastronomy authors submit their nominations and ultimately vote for the finest, most creative cuisines. The “Greek Cuisine Awards” operate under the “Golden Toques” umbrella and are given to restaurants that honor Greek cuisine. “’Toques d’ Or’ awards and nominations refer to the most important restaurants of the country,” said Manos Krassadakis, manager of Black Rock Restaurant. “There are many great restaurants on Santorini and in the rest of Greece and to receive such honor is really important, ” he added. The Black Rock Restaurant is nominated for its interpretation of modern Greek cuisine, as it combines high quality ingredients and flavors with unique techniques. Renowned chef George Choraitis uses fresh products to create refreshing combinations of Greek recipes with a gourmet twist. The restaurant’s minimalist design blends with Santorini’s scenery and the Aegean deep blue waters. The Santorini Secret Suites & Spa is built on the famous cliff of Oia, 100 meters above sea level and it is offering an impressive view of the Caldera.
