The destination not only won the “Best Island in Europe” title, but its resorts also snagged four of the top five slots in the Best Resort Hotels category, according to “T+L” writer Stirling Kelso. Within the framework of the World’s Best Awards survey, every year the magazine asks readers to weigh in on their travel experiences around the globe and share their opinions on the top hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas airlines, and more. Hotels were rated based on their facilities, location, service, food and overall value. Mystique, A Luxury Collection Hotel “A perennial favorite, Santorini dominated this category thanks to properties that hug dramatic cliffsides,” Kelso reports. Mystique, A Luxury Collection Hotel is described by “T+L” as a “stunner” in Oia, thanks to its infinity pool and terraced seating for sunloungers. The adults-only property also has a range of dining options: “Charisma”, which serves traditional Greek dishes and the Japanese-influenced “Asea Lounge Restaurant”. Mystique’s sister property Vedema, A Luxury Collection Resort is located farther south. It is praised by “T+L” for its unique location as it is housed in a 400-year-old wine cellar of a century-old mansion. The property also includes a private beach, making it one of Santorini’s best options for families, according to “T+L”.
