Pioneering Greeks: Eleftheria Zourou, Founder & CEO of Doctoranytime

This week we introduce Eleftheria Zourou, founder & CEO of Doctoranytime, an online platform that helps people contact the doctor of their choice and makes the appointment process easier and quicker.

Doctoranytime was born as one of Eleftheria’s personal needs. She got the idea in 2011, motivated by the thought that it should be possible to choose your own doctor and that the specific procedure should not be a “blind date”.

The user can enter the Doctoranytime platform, search for a doctor’s name, the symptoms or an illness and the system will provide him/her with a list of doctors, who fully respond to the criteria.

Doctoranytime – as an idea and as a service – is innovative since it’s offering transparency in the way you choose but mainly because it is the only such service offering ratings. A second innovation is the patient’s personal profile.

Doctoranytime was not easily accepted by doctors, since it concerns a sector that requires the establishment of a relationship based on trust. The health sector includes long-suffering cases and concerns very sensitive parts of everyday life. Therefore, beyond the need to simplify the doctor’s selection process and make an appointment, a second aim is definitely to help society, and this has become part of Doctoranytime’s Corporate Social Responsibility program.

“The health sector is a place that I personally think, is a playground for someone who wants to get involved with innovation and with the creation of new features and new products,” Elefteria said.

Inspired by the dynamism and creativity of the Greek entrepreneurial spirit, LoveGreece was founded in 2013 as an initiative to boost and promote the country’s image abroad by profiling talented and successful Greeks. With their ethos and vision, Greece’s entrepreneurs and professionals are an important aspect of the country worth highlighting to the world. LoveGreece is powered by Gina Mamidaki, the founder of the G & A Mamidakis Foundation.
