Likewise, during the January-April 2017 period, museums in Greece saw a 14.1 percent increase in visitor numbers and a 22.4 percent increase in revenue from receipts. According to ELSTAT, in April alone, the country’s museums saw an 13.1 percent increase in visitors and a 36.4 percent increase in receipts, compared with the corresponding period last year. Visitors to archaeological sites in April were up by 24.2 percent and receipts rose by 34.3 percent, compared with the same month in 2016.
