Events Aegean Regatta 2017 Race Kicks Off in the Dodecanese by GTP editing team 21 August 2017 written by GTP editing team 21 August 2017 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 6 With the participation of 82 boats and crews from 16 countries, the Aegean Regatta 2017 kicked off on August 20, from the island of Patmos in the Dodecanese and will run through August 26. The official opening ceremony was held on Saturday, August 19, at the Cultural Center of Patmos, while on Sunday the boats set sail to Astypalea, Nissyros and Rhodes. This year the participant crews come from Turkey, Ireland, Russia, Croatia, Saint Lucia, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania, Austria and Greece. The international sailing event is organized for the 17th year by the General Secretariat of the Aegean and Island Policy and the Open Sea Commission of the Hellenic Sailing Federation.
