Greece’s archaeological sites and most museums will remain closed between 12 and 4 pm on Friday, September 1, due to a four-hour work stoppage called by the Panhellenic Union of the Culture Ministry Temporary Personnel.

The protesters demand the payment of archaeologists working on short-term contracts and are planning to hold a rally on on Friday, at 12.30 pm, outside the offices of the Archaeological Receipts and Expropriations Fund and the Ministry of Culture.

They also ask for the renewal of contracts of archaeologists working on projects currently run by the Chios Ephorate of Antiquities and funded by the National Strategic Reference Framework.
