Company updates Mitsis Hotels Creates Blood Bank in Memory of its Founder by GTP editing team 7 September 2017 written by GTP editing team 7 September 2017 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 8 Mitsis Hotels has created a blood bank, with the participation of the group’s staff, to honor the memory of its founder Konstantinos Mitsis. “The contribution of the employees of the group’s 17 hotels in this gift of life is much appreciated,” the company said in an announcement, adding that through the initiative the staff was honoring the founder of Greece’s biggest hotel chain. Counting 41 years of history in the Greek tourism sector, the group has been awarded numerous times for its high-quality services; its contribution in upgrading the country’s tourism product and its respect towards the environment. Konstantinos Mitsis passed away in August 2016. He was the founder of Mitsis Hotels and publisher of “Vradini” daily newspaper. Born in Ioannina he created his first textile enterprise at a very young age. In 1978 he opened his first hotel, Ramira, on the island of Kos. A pioneering spirit, Konstantinos Mitsis also created the first all-inclusive hotel, Norida, on Kos. Today the group operates 17 hotels across Greece, on the islands of Kos, Rhodes, Crete, Corfu, Mykonos, as well as in Athens, Ioannina, and Kamena Vourla.
