Within the framework of the celebrations for its 50th anniversary, Cretan passenger shipping company ANEK LINES recently held a bicycle race in Chania, Crete, in collaboration with the Talos Cycling Association.

Titled “50 Years ANEK LINES”, the race took place with the approval of the Hellenic Cycling Federation and the participation of athletes from all over Greece.

The race started from ANEK’s central offices in Chania and saw the cyclists pass through the Municipal Market, the area of Halepa, the Cape and the graves of the Venizelos family to reach the port of Souda, where the event ended with an impressive circuit race.

Following the bicycle race, all cyclists and guests celebrated on board ANEK’s  “Eleftherios Venizelos” ferry with music and dancing by the “Pelasgoi” local dance association.

ANEK LINES president Giorgos Katsanevakis awarded the winners of the “50 Years ANEK LINES” bicycle race.
