Air Mediterranean Airlines has announced the launch of new scheduled direct routes between Athens and seven destinations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

As of November 1, the Athens-based carrier will be flying non-stop from the Greek capital to London, Stockholm, Jeddah, Casablanca, Khartoum, Baghdad and Erbil.

“Athens airport’s administration has welcomed our new itineraries and has supported us throughout our preparation. We look forward to our cooperation with tourism agencies, in order to provide travelers with more options,” said Air Mediterranean CEO Fadi Ilias Hallak. “Our aim is to offer the best services to our passengers and to respond to the demand for improved cargo services, also connecting Europe with Africa and the Middle East, using Athens as our strategic hub,” he added.

Ticket prices from Athens to London and Stockholm start from 85 euros, including airport taxes and fees. The cost of roundtrip tickets from London and Stockholm to the Middle East and Africa through Athens start from 440 euros (airport taxes and fees included).

“The decision of Air Mediterranean Airlines to start the winter season with seven new, scheduled intermarries from Athens is exciting news for the Athens International Airport (AIA),” said Ioanna Papadopoulou AIA director of communications and marketing.

Air Mediterranean was established in 2015 with the mission to efficiently meet the demand for passenger and cargo service linking under-served destinations in the Middle East and Africa to Europe through Greece, as a centrally located hub.
