The Thessaloniki Hotels Association (THA) participated in the four-day event under the umbrella of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) with its representatives on the spot to offer information on the northern port city’s latest tourism products as well as gain insight into the interests of future travelers from France. Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura visited the stand of the Thessaloniki Hotels Association at the Top Resa International Fair. Culture and gastronomy were at the top of French holidaymakers’ preferences when booking package deals and according to the THA, French President Emmanuel Macron’s September visit to Athens has played a decisive role in igniting interest. At the same time, the number of overnight stays in Thessaloniki is on the rise, attributed mainly to the introduction of direct flights to the city as well as the sense of security offered. The THA is working dynamically to promote the city with a series of actions, including hosting French travel operators and journalists, as well as entering new talks with tour companies so that they extend stays or include Thessaloniki in their itineraries.
