The initiative is part of a greater plan for the creation of a film studio and a film school on the island, in collaboration with the Greek state and the European Union.

“I fell very excited to be able to organize a six-day intensive course on filmmaking on Syros,” Bernstein said. “It is a gesture of my absolute commitment to the creation of an international film studio and a film school on the island. The class will be indicative of the school’s high-quality teaching level,” he added.

The 8-hour daily classes will be held in English and will cover film production, screenwriting, lighting and film direction among other topics.

The course is addressed to English-speaking Greek individuals. According to an announcement, a limited number of international students are also invited to attend but priority will be given to Greek citizens.
