Event News ‘Sofitel Wine Days 2017’ Fascinate Travelers in Athens by GTP editing team 11 October 2017 written by GTP editing team 11 October 2017 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 6 The Sofitel Athens Airport is participating in the 2017 edition of “Sofitel Wine Days”, the group’s global initiative, providing travelers with the opportunity to deepen their enological knowledge through a round-the-world tour of wines. The traditional wine harvest period in France occurs in September and October, thus Sofitel — AccorHotels’ French luxury brand — has chosen this time of the year to introduce guests to its annual Wine Days program, which this year started on September 21 and will run through to October 31 in all Sofitel hotels. In Greece, the guests of Sofitel Athens Airport will enjoy exceptional wine-based cocktails at the “Artemis” bar and a wine pairing menu at “Mesoghaia restaurant”, especially created on the occasion of Sofitel Wine Days. A series of food tasting events will also be held, along with a special wine tasting and cheese pairing event for students of Universities’ tourism departments. Five-star hotel Sofitel Athens Airport is located next to the Athens International Airport and the Athens suburban railway. “With events hosted by master sommeliers, guests embark on an odyssey full of surprises, discovering new flavors and even some unknown and exotic varieties,” Sofitel said in an announcement. “This initiative allows the 120 hotels worldwide to come together in celebration of wine and French art de vivre.” Sofitel’s sommeliers have selected an array of international wines, which will allow guests globally to discover each of their specific features and taste profiles. Australia, Argentina, Portugal and New Zealand – all of these wine regions are being showcased in a “voyage of the senses”. The events also include a number of “Wines of the World” events, discussions and meetings with local wine experts. The Sofitel Group is present in five continents and 40 countries with 120 hotels.
