The Santorini Airport is among the 14 Greek regional airports managed by the company. “Our aim is to make every passenger’s travel experience equivalent to Santorini’s beauty, while completing the island’s positive image shown to the world, Fraport Greece CEO Alexander Zinell said adding that in a few years the airport will be one more basic feature of Santorini’s global fame. Fraport Greece’s development plans include the construction of a new fire station; the refurbishment of the passenger terminal and the restructuring of the airport apron area. Furtermore, there will be a 235 percent increase in total terminal space at 15,640 m2, by replacing part of the current terminal and constructing a new one. In efforts to improve the quality of the services offered, the company will proceed with a number of additional changes which include: A 113 percent increase in the number of check-in counters; doubling the number of baggage conveyor belts; a 20 percent increase in the number of departure gates and a 250 percent increase in the number of security-check lanes.
