The survey looked into the habits and requirements of 3,000 participants from France, Italy, Great Britain and Australia who stayed at upmarket hotels and found that 86 percent were in favor of a female-oriented hospitality program within a hotel, with 36 percent noting that the female-focus is currently lacking. Lady travelers want a more holistic approach to wellbeing and comfort with 73 percent saying luxury linens, thick towels and simple indulgences are among the three main reasons they select luxury hotels for their stays. Attention to detail (53 percent) and efficient service (47 percent) follow. Topping the list of favorite amenities are showers with massage jets (69 percent), a powerful hair dryer (65 percent) and bath robes in the right size (61 percent). Seeking that “feminine touch”, 63 percent said fresh flowers do the trick, while 43 percent pointed to the material quality of the décor and 42 percent to the subtle service details. As for items often forgotten while packing, nail polish remover was first (32 percent), followed by razors and sunscreen (21 percent) and make-up remover (18 percent). For breakfast, 20 percent of the women polled said they prefer to treat themselves to the croissants and sweet pastries of a Continental basket, with 55 percent saying they love it all, including the bacon-and-eggs savory option.
