Tourism industry professionals and architects from Greece and abroad will participate in the 2nd Architecture and Tourism Conference, which will be held on October 21 and 22 at the Rodos Palace Hotel on Rhodes.

The two-day event aims to open the dialogue between architecture and tourism experts and attract visitors from all over the world, the organizers said in an announcement.

Participant speakers include Dimitris Kolonis and Zeta Kotsioni, lead architects at Zaha Hadid Architects (UK);  Marianthi Tatari, associate director and senior architect at UNStudio (the Netherlands); Maria Vafiadis, founder of MCV Design (UK); Melita Skamnaki and Willhelm Finger, co-founders of Double Decker (UK).

Among the issues to be discussed is the organization of international architecture and tourism exhibitions in the South Aegean region; architecture and tourism development in antiquity; post-war architecture in tourism in the Dodecanese.

Furthermore, a workshop on technology and design will take place in collaboration with LG for architects and hoteliers.

The conferences on architecture and tourism are an initiative of the Association of Architects of the Dodecanese. The first conference was held in October 2015 in collaboration with the South Aegean Region and the Rhodes Hotel Association, and attracted 450 delegates.

The admission to the 2nd  Architecture and Tourism Conference is free but registration is required. For more information (in Greek) press here.
