ERA Announces New Board at General Assembly in Athens

Andrew Kelly director corporate affairs of ASL Aviation Holdings (right) is the new president of the European Regions Airline Association (ERA).

The European Regions Airline Association (ERA) appointed Andrew Kelly, director corporate affairs of ASL Aviation Holdings as its new president, during the ERA General Assembly 2017, which was recently held in Athens.

Kelly takes over as president from Boet Kreiken, chief executive of KLM Cityhopper and KLM Amsterdam.

Kelly’s current responsibilities in ASL Ireland and across the eight other airlines of ASL Aviation Holdings include strategic communications, external and government relations, regulatory affairs, lobbying and crisis communications. He is also currently acting as interim chief executive officer at ASL Airlines, Hungary.

“I’m very much looking forward to working with the ERA leadership team and board members as we implement ERA’s future strategy and drive positive change in the European aviation industry,” Andrew Kelly stated.

Lorna Reader, ERA general manager corporate administration, welcomed Kelly and thanked outgoing president Boet Kreiken “for his excellent work over the past four years”. She also welcomed the re-elected vice presidents Carlos Bertomeu and Jan Palmer, and all the new and re-elected board members.

The ERA General Assembly 2017 was held in Athens on October 17–19 with the participation of European aviation leaders and key industry figures. The event provided in-depth insight into the aviation sector and covered the latest developments in the industry.

Founded in 1980, ERA is currently representing 52 airlines and 146 companies involved in European air transport. The association promotes the interests of European airlines by lobbying the European Commission and other European regulatory bodies on policy matters, promoting the social and economic importance of air transport and its environmental commitments.
