Santorini’s Mystique, A Luxury Collection Hotel was recently voted among the best hotels in the world and among the top hotels in Europe, while Vedema, A Luxury Collection Resort was voted among the top resorts in Europe in the Condé Nast Traveller (CNT) Readers’ Choice Awards 2017.

More specifically, Mystique ranked 17th among the 50 Best Hotels in the World and 7th on the Top 10 Hotels in Europe list.

Vedema was voted 3rd among the Top 30 Resorts in Europe.

More than 300,000 readers – discerning travelers of the world – took part in the 30th annual Readers’ Choice Awards survey by  Condé Nast Traveller, which included millions of ratings and more than 100,000 comments to help create a list of winning favorites.

The breadth of the top-rated experiences was impressive: From elegant castles in the Irish countryside to tented safari camps trailing the “great migration” across the renowned Serengeti national park.

“Mystique masterfully combines elegant design, traditional architecture, luxury service, relaxing ambience and Santorini’s legendary beauty,” the hotel said in an announcement. “Carved into the rugged Caldera cliffs that overlook the turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea, Mystique’s unique location creates a distinct serene quality that defines the hotel’s character.

A favored destination for honeymoons and romantic escapes, Mystique is nothing but a natural, exclusive retreat, designed to provide the very best sensorial experiences to its guests,” the hotel said.

Mystique’s sister property Vedema Resort located in the medieval village of Megalohori, has evolved from a 400-year-old wine cellar and a 100-year-old mansion into an authentic Cycladic-styled property. “Dedicated to the needs of seasoned travelers, the resort is renowned for its charming, luxurious and intimate ambience,” the announcement said.

Located on the western side of the island of Santorini, it is encircled by a traditional stonewall and surrounded by vineyards that overlook the traditional village.
