MCE South Europe 2017 Gathers Region’s MICE Experts

With the participation of DMCs, PCOs, event management companies, convention bureaus, hotels and airlines from South European countries the third edition of the MCE South Europe forum was held between October 8 and 10 at the Four Points by Sheaton Catania Hotel & Conference Center in Catania, Sicily.

The high-end MICE event brought together a great number of South European MICE Solution Providers with leading event planners keen on building new business partnerships.

“The forum in Catania, Sicily was a great success… We’re happy to have been able to contribute to the development of so many new collaborations in the MICE industry in Southern Europe,” said  Alain Pallas, managing director of Europe Congress, co-organizer of the event.

The forum commenced on October 8 with a reception at the Hotel Villa Diodoro by Gais Hotels Group in the city of Taormina.

The forum’s second day included pre-scheduled B2B meetings, a presentation of all the participating South European destinations and many networking activities.

The third day also included B2B meetings and networking features such as luncheons and coffee breaks, as well as a keynote performance by Jonathan Bradshaw, founder of The Meetology Lab and expert on psychology and interpersonal communication.

For the evening program, Il Giardini de Villa Fago, an exceptional venue at the foot of Mount Etna, was chosen. All forum participants attended a reception in the impressive gardens, with dinner and opera performances among other events.

“We are very proud of the excellent proceedings of the event… We hope all participants had the time to discover the beauty of our island and we’re confident to see successful MICE business as the result of it,” said Dianiela Marino representing the Sicilia Convention Bureau, which was among the organizers of the event.

The 3rd MCE South Europe 2017 forum was held in partnership with Incoming Italy DMC.

The 4th MCE South Europe forum will take place between October 21 and 23, 2018,  at the Makedonia Palace in Thessaloniki.
