Event News Decision Makers to Discuss Future of Shipping at 17th Navigator Forum by GTP editing team 31 October 2017 written by GTP editing team 31 October 2017 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 11 Key issues regarding the future of shipping will be discussed during the 17th Navigator 2017 – Shipping Decision Makers Forum, which will take place on November 3 at the Hellas Liberty floating museum at the port of Piraeus. A platform for open dialogue since 2001, the Navigator Forum is held annually by the Navigator Shipping Consultants, with the participation of more than 400 prominent personalities of the Greek and international shipping community. This year’s forum aims to highlight the importance of ports and the supply chain for the shipping industry and will focus on sustainable innovation and the way it is challenging tradition in order to create new opportunities. Lesvos is this year’s honored island. The minister of maritime affairs and insular policy Panagiotis Kouroumplis will open the forum, while among the confirmed speakers are Geoffrey Pyatt, Ambassador of the United States of America to Greece; Vassilis Korkidis, president of the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and president of the Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship; Athena Kanellatou, managing director of Macgregor Greece; Kostis Achladitis, managing director of Golden Cargo and Hugo Du Mez, advisor business intelligence of Dry Bulk – Port of Rotterdam. Cristina Liakopulos de Papadikis, Ambassador and General Consul of Panama in Greece, will speak on the celebration of the 100 years of the Panama Ships Registry. The forum will be moderated again this year by George Xiradakis, managing director of XRTC Business Consultants and president of The Propeller Club (Port of Piraeus) and Helena Athoussaki, head of the Maritime Sustainability Centre – PwC.
