George Antonaros President, Hellenic Association of Airline RepresentativesOfficial Tourism Message

Despite the fact that the economic recession in Greece continues, there are some slight improvements in certain areas.

Unemployment figures have improved and the economy in general is showing some signs of stability. One of the key factors for these trends is definitely the good course of tourism in Greece.

The main goal for 2018 remains the same: to increase the arrivals and encourage airlines to have new routes or additional frequencies.

The positive development of the privatization of the country’s 14 regional airports and the improvements in their infrastructure will soon offer passengers and tourists more comfort and new facilities.

These improvements will be visible soon at the airports of Thessaloniki, Mykonos, Santorini, Chania and other smaller ones, such as Paros, Naxos, etc..

We strongly believe that all of the aforementioned developments could make 2018 a new record year for tourism, which could contribute positively to the further improvement of the Geek economy and the increase of the GDP, by reducing further unemployment rates.

On behalf of SAAE Board and members, I would like to extend my regards to all exhibitors and buyers and wish them fruitful business results.
