Key to this effort is the strategic investment of 400 million euros in airport infrastructure by 2021 that will mark the beginning of a new era. At the same time, through the promotion of the 14 cities and regions as tourist destinations, the development of new routes, the attraction of new airlines and the extension of the tourist season, we seek to strengthen the most dynamic sector of the Greek economy. With vehicles, the efficient, modern and upgraded organization and operation of the airports, as well as the customer-centric philosophy and management practice, we aim at operating 14 competitive airports, similar to the best international ones, that will further enhance our country’s attractiveness as a top tourist destination. Our aim is to modernize and expand the airports, the gateways to our country, which will act as a beacon of improvement, upgrade and attraction of the 14 destinations that welcome millions of visitors every year from all around the world. By using our international expertise and best industry practices, Fraport Greece will develop and implement targeted actions aiming to attract new airlines and routes that will greatly accelerate the development of our airports-destinations. By initiating, supporting and promoting synergies with local authorities and other stakeholders, we aim to achieve better utilization of the available resources and more effective promotion of the destinations we serve. Building on international experience, we have already started to create new and upgrade the existing retail and catering units that will significantly enhance our passengers’ travel experience by offering high quality and big variety of services. Passenger traffic and foreign residents’ arrivals at Fraport Greece airports, experienced double-digit increase in S17, indicating the attractiveness of the 14 tourist destinations that our airports serve. Last but not least, we believe that Fraport Greece will support the evolution of the overall aviation business in Greece, with positive impact on local economies, attraction of additional number of passengers/tourists and a significant upgrade of the passenger experience.
