The November 10-12 events will include the participation of regional and municipal authorities, representatives from shipping and travel, as well as the participation of delegates from Turkey, Cyprus, Egypt, Austria, Russia, Albania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Poland, Luxembourg, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Peru, the Philippines and Indonesia. Describing Philoxenia as one of the largest tourism events in the Balkans, TIF-Helexpo CEO Kyriakos Pozrikidis noted that this year the event has marked a 10 percent increase in the number of participations. The spotlight this year at the 33rd International Tourism Exhibition “Philoxenia”, to be held at the Ioannis Vellidis Congress Center tomorrow, will be on “Tourism from Asia: Greece as a Destination and Gateway to Europe”. Experts and sector professionals will address outbound tourism from Asia and the trends, connectivity and travel facilities, and ways of approaching the Asian traveler. The event’s round-table discussion will focus on the challenges ahead. The two industry shows serve as a forum of exchange between regional market players and local tourism professionals and provide the chance to explore business opportunities in both Greece and the wider Balkan region. The Hotelia International Hotel Equipment Exhibition, featuring the latest in hotel equipment, design, construction, renovation, decoration, energy-saving upgrades and other hospitality-related facilities, will focus on Dpoint Spaces where the Spa and Lobby concepts will be presented by interior decorators and architects. Besides its popular All About Café dedicated to the art of coffee, the show will this year also include “All About Gastronomy” which will center on the “Greek Breakfast & Brunch” initiatives. The event is held under the auspices of the tourism and interior ministries, the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) in collaboration with the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE) and other tourism associations. The Greek Travel Pages (GTP) is a media sponsor of the 33rd International Tourism Exhibition “Philoxenia”.
