AccorHotels Celebrates 50th Anniversary with Everyday Heroes

As part of the celebrations to mark the group’s 50th anniversary, nearly 2,000 AccorHotels around the world recently opened their doors to the everyday heroes of the local communities – men and women – while introducing the AccorLocal initiative.

Firefighters, nurses, teachers, craftspersons and local shopkeepers, people who work every day to serve their communities, were received by the hoteliers and their employees and had the opportunity to share a moment around a breakfast, a barbecue or a concert.

Furthermore, by launching the AccorLocal, a local services offer, AccorHotels is providing shopkeepers with the opportunity to offer their products within the group’s hotels, while on the other hand, hotels are also given the chance to promote their hospitality services to a non-resident clientele.

“For the past 50 years, millions of customers around the world have trusted AccorHotels’ hospitality expertise,” said the group’s chairman and CEO Sébastien Bazin. “We have now chosen to make this unparalleled wealth available to benefit community life by developing an unprecedented model, creating social connections and value for small businesses, local communities and staff members at our hotels,” he added.

The AccorLocal application currently counts some 3,000 active users and offers hundreds of services in more than 250 hotels in France. The service will be rolled out in 2018 and 2019 in major cities around the world.

Through AccorLocal, hoteliers are free to determine the services they wish to propose, based on local needs and on their own relationships with local shopkeepers.

Other services provided through larger partnerships include: Bouquets delivered to the hotel’s reception with AccorLocal’s special bouquets in collaboration with Pampa, Bergamotte and others; yoga, pilates and relaxation classes provided by Oly Be in a room let by the hotel; quality bread delivered by Poilâne and Nespresso capsules pick-up and deposit points accessible 24/7.
