With the support of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), the five-member crew of ITV recently visited the island to create a video on its beauties and the residents’ way of life, who are believed to hold the “secret” of longevity. According to an announcement by GNTO, the trip was part of the national tourism policy and the communication strategy currently implemented by tourism minister Elena Kountoura to promote Greece as a global attractive 365-days-a- year destination. It took place upon a decision signed by GNTO secretary general Konstantinos Tsegas. The video will be broadcast in January 2018. The ITV show “This Morning” counts 2 million viewers on a daily basis and a viewing rate of 22 percent, according to GNTO. Furthermore, the show’s website is among the network’s most popular with 1.2 million visitors on average per month.
