An ambitious e-learning platform offering virtual tours promoting Greek culture to travelers and students is aiming to collect 65,000 euros by December 31 via an ongoing crowdfunding campaign (http://yougoculture.com/donate-en). Dubbed “Υοu Go Culture”, the web-based project is being carried out by the University of Athens in collaboration with the E-learning Program of its Continuing Education Center and offers insight into Greece via virtual tours and other activities focusing on places of environmental or geological interest, entertainment and good life, points of tourist interest, venues of contemporary culture and recreation as well as traditional products, recipes or local cuisine. The tours and information are in English and aim to serve as a “window to Greece and Greek culture”. The site http://yougoculture.com already offers insight into nine popular destinations: Epidavros, Olympia, Mycenae, Mystras, Messina, Marathon, Lavrio-Sounio, Elefsina and Athens. The project has thus far gathered some 24,000 euros through its crowdfunding campaign. It has also garnered the support of act4Greece – National Bank of Greece’s crowdfunding program.
