2017 Year in Review - GTP Greece’s ‘Boutique Hotel’ Certification Officially Available via Online Platform by GTP editing team 8 December 2017 written by GTP editing team 8 December 2017 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 25 In efforts to recognize, distinguish and promote hotels that offer a unique experience to their guests, the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels (HCH), as of December 11 is officially activating its “boutique hotels” certification platform. Currently operating on a pilot scheme, the program is addressed to Greek accommodation units that fulfill the requirements of being designated as “boutique hotels”. Following the completion of an online process they receive certification and the special seal. “We aim to contribute with our specialized know-how to the common efforts to define the tourism products that support the seasonability of demand and the development of the infrastructure,” said HCH president Giorgos Tsakiris during the Greek Tourism Expo held at the Metropolitan Expo in Athens. The basic requirements for a unit to receive the “Boutique Hotel” seal is to have up to 60 rooms and be a 3-, 4- or 5-star establishment. Hoteliers interested in obtaining the “Boutique Hotel” seal must also ascertain that their accommodation units follow the concept of a boutique hotel in regards to the style of its premises, its architectural design and decoration. The evaluation of a “boutique hotel” is carried out in four phases through an interactive online process. “This product is a quality seal and a way of defining the services of hotels… The cetrification of Greek accommodation facilities, the ‘Greek Breakfast’ initiative and now the ‘Boutique Hotel’ certification aim to cover the need for quality in Greek tourism,” Tsakiris added. The online interactive platform is available at www.boutique-hotel.gr. Follow GTP Headlines on Google News to keep up to date with all the latest on tourism and travel in Greece.
