Company updates Ryanair’s New Cabin Bag Policy to Start in January 2018 by GTP editing team 14 December 2017 written by GTP editing team 14 December 2017 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 26 Low-cost carrier Ryanair on Wednesday reminded that its new cabin bag policy will come into effect on January 15, 2018. The new policy will aim to encourage more customers to check in bags in order to reduce the volume of carry-on bags. According to an announcement, only Priority Boarding customers (including Plus, Flexi Plus and Family Plus) will be allowed to bring two carry-on bags on the aircraft. All other (i.e. non-priority) customers will only be allowed to bring one smaller carry-on bag on board, while their second (bigger) wheelie bag will be placed in the hold (free of charge) at the boarding gate. “This will speed up the boarding of flights and eliminate flight delays, alongside our new checked bag policy, which offers our customers lower bag fees for a 33% increase in their checked bag allowance,” Ryanair chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs. Ryanair’s new bags policy already includes cuts to checked bag fees (from 35 euros to 25 euros) and an increase in the check-in bag allowance from 15 kg to 20 kg . Priority Boarding can be purchased for 5 euros at the time of booking or added to a booking for 6 euros and is available up to one hour prior to scheduled departure.
