Greece’s best hotels in terms of design, lighting and renovation were awarded at the Hotel Design Awards 2017 during a ceremony held during the fifth edition of the 100% Hotel Show in November. Held for the fourth year to applaud the architects and designers who stand out for their work, the awards aim to highlight the determining role design can play in hotel decoration and renovation. This year’s winners included, among others, Casa Cook Kos on the Dodecannese island, Villa Venenziano (Anatolia Hospitality) on Lefkada and the Kenshō Boutique Hotel & Suites on Mykonos. Furthermore, during the event three awards were presented to the exhibition’s best stands, with Bagno Y Bagno ranking first, followed by Box architects in second place and Papageorgiou Iakovos in third. During the event, Dimitris Antonakos, founder of the show’s organizing company Demand Customize Marketing, thanked all the participants for supporting the contest with their presence. The Hotel Design Awards aims to support the extroversion of Greek hotel design, by promoting the winners’ work to the international market, through a number of activities such as exhibitions and online campaigns. Furthermore, it highlights the instrumental role of Greek design in the upgrade of hotels and how this can boost their competitiveness in the market.
