Sam Ioannidis “In addition to his talent as a hotelier and his leadership skills, with more than two decades with Four Seasons, Sam’s recent track record of establishing a new hotel and successfully bringing it to life while embracing the local community make him the ideal candidate to introduce Four Seasons in Greece for the first time,” says Simon Casson, President, Hotel Operations – Europe, Middle East and Africa for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens is set to open in 2018. “Inspired by the property’s glamorous history, Four Seasons is creating a new luxury experience for a new era here,” says Ioannidis. “As a proud Greek returning to the birthplace of my people, I join the local community in looking forward to showing the world this beautiful destination and working to embed the warm, welcoming and passionate local culture into Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens.” Born in Frankfurt to Greek parents, the bilingual Ioannidis grew up in Germany and Greece, eventually heading to Toronto, Canada – the hometown of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts – to earn his hospitality degree and begin his career. Joining the company in 1998, he rose through the ranks in the food and beverage divisions of both urban and resort hotels in North America before heading to Europe for his first General Manager assignment at Four Seasons Hotel Baku. Shortly after, he opened Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi at Al Maryah Island in 2016. Follow GTP Headlines on Google News to keep up to date with all the latest on tourism and travel in Greece.
