Greek-wineries.com, the brainchild of Dimitris Kimiatzis, aims to offer insight into the Greek wine experience and serve as a data base of sorts which will contribute to the establishment and growth of enotourism. By that time it’s too late, they’ve already drawn up their plans,” Kimiatzis says speaking to Proto Thema. He adds that the idea behind Greek-wineries.com is to offer travelers information on all wineries open to the public as well as wine-producing regions, small-scale wineries, food and wine festivals ahead of their visit so that they can include it in their itinerary. They can also book wine tours online. The site currently hosts 180 wineries located in the country’s main wine producing regions including Santorini, Nemea, Crete, Naoussa, Drama, Halkidiki, Samos, Limnos, Zitsa and Metsovo.
