Sabre Corporation, a leading technology provider, has renewed its distribution agreement with Greek carrier Aegean Airlines to continue providing full content through the Sabre Travel Network global distribution system (GDS).

Sabre and Aegean Airlines are counting their 18th year of partnership.

“As Aegean now looks to further strengthen operations and drive efficiency through innovative technology, Sabre’s enhanced merchandising capabilities will empower the airline to market its fares and ancillaries to travelers in new and exciting ways,” Sabre Travel Network regional director for Greece and Cyprus Andreas Syrigos said in an announcement.

By ensuring travel agencies the access to their full range of content and services in the GDS, Aegean Airlines reinforces the value of Sabre’s travel marketplace, which plays an important role in facilitating the marketing and sale of airfares to more than 425,000 travel agents and thousands of corporations around the world. This holistic distribution strategy positions Sabre as a technology provider, enabling both direct and indirect channels and giving travelers the freedom to purchase tickets and ancillaries wherever they prefer.

In recent years, Aegean has been continuously strengthening its international presence, supporting Greek tourism both in Athens and through regional airports. Its network now includes 155 destinations – 33 domestic and 122 international – across 44 countries, with more than 16.5 million available seats. Aegean serves some 13 million customers per year.

Sabre’s travel marketplace is one of the world’s largest, processing over 120 billion dollars in estimated travel spend each year.
