Glion Institute of Higher Education, one of the world’s leading hospitality management schools, has announced the launch of its latest academic innovation, a dual-degree MBA-MSc program with Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM), effective September 2018.*

Designed to enhance career progression, the dual-degree program allows students to obtain an MBA and Master of Science in International Hospitality Business in only one academic year and one additional year on the job. This unique master’s program combines an intensive practical curriculum with a focus on contemporary management challenges and key operational concepts. It prepares students to be holistic managers with a global view of business and strategies, to think critically and strategically and to adapt to a changing global environment.

The innovative format will require students to spend a year on the Glion campus following lectures delivered by both Glion and GEM faculty members, combined with a 12-month blended-learning experience while on the job. In order to earn their degrees, candidates will need to complete both a Final Management Project and a Hospitality Capstone Project.

“We are proud to partner with Grenoble Ecole de Management to (GEM), a triple-accredited institution to offer this dual-degree program. Students will obtain a Master of Science in International Hospitality Business, a graduate degree that transfers all the necessary skills for managing business operations and people in hotels and hospitality companies, together with the strategic skills of an MBA to become the undisputed leaders of tomorrow,” said Georgette Davey, Managing Director of Glion Institute of Higher Education.

Apart from obtaining two specialized advanced degrees from two world-class institutions, graduates will have the opportunity to connect with industry experts, receive full access to the career services of both schools, as well as full membership to the alumni networks of both schools.

“Our MBA program at GEM stands out for its internationality and its emphasis on well-rounded professional development. Together with Glion’s long-standing hospitality expertise and tradition of excellence, we will be able to deliver a stimulating double-degree program with a rigorous academic curriculum that directly applies to the dynamic hospitality industry,” said Phil Eyre, MBA Program Director at Grenoble Ecole de Management.

This academic innovation reflects Glion’s commitment to best equip students for employment and anticipate latest trends of the travel & tourism industry, which is expected to create an additional 90 million jobs by 2027.
