Air Travel Greek Carrier Ellinair Expands Fleet by GTP editing team 6 March 2018 written by GTP editing team 6 March 2018 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 12 Greek carrier and Mouzenidis Group company Ellinair announced the expansion of its fleet on the back of a 40 percent rise in the number of transferred passengers in 2017, compared to 2016 and the launch of seven new routes in 2018. Ellinair plans to increase its aircraft to 10 – three 144-seat Airbus 319s, five 180-seat A320s and two 148-sear B737-300 – from the current three. Mouzenidis Group President Boris Mouzenidis “We are continually adding new destinations to our network, while our international partnerships offer passengers a wide variety of choices in a highly competitive market. Within the same context, we connect many of Greece’s regional airports with key European destinations, generating positive results for local communities and businesses,” said Mouzenidis Group President Boris Mouzenidis. The airline, operating out of Greece (Thessaloniki, Corfu and Heraklio) and Russia, is also boosting the frequency of its routes to 30 and is estimating a 35 percent increase in incoming travel from Russia this year. Ellinair’s 2018 schedule includes flights to eight destinations in Greece, as well as routes from Moscow to Chania, Crete and connecting flights via Thessaloniki to Mykonos and Santorini. It will also handle Stuttgart, Munich, Frankfurt, Berlin, Kluge, Warsaw, Katowice, Tallinn, Riga and Belgrade.
