In efforts to promote Greek tourism worldwide, sales and reservation management company Axia Hospiality recently held an in-person meeting of its Twitter connections in London.

The company’s 1st International Press Tweetup event took place at the “Meraki” Greek restaurant in central London with the participation of more than 30 representatives of the most significant and influential media in the UK — such as Conde Nast Traveller, Tatler, Vanity Fair, Porter, House and Garden, Times, Daily Mail, Daily Telegraph and Express — travel writers and bloggers.

The editors and bloggers were informed on new hotel and resort openings in Greece, as well as the new services and experiences offered by Axia Hospitality’s member hotels.

“We all know that the increase in demand for hotels depends on their worldwide recognition,” said founder and CEO Yiannis Kyritsis.

“This recognition can be achieved only through specific targeted communication and marketing activities and this is exactly the aim of Axia Hospitality’s first International Press Tweetup event,” he said.

According to Axia Hospitality, the International Press Tweetup in London is the first of a number of events that will take place in the most significant European tourism markets.

“The Axia Hospitality team is constantly traveling around the world — from Mexico to London and from Cannes to Dubai — to participate in international tourism exhibitions and roadshows,” Kyritsis added.
