Cypriot airline Cobalt Air recently announced the launch of a new direct service between Athens, Greece, and Gatwick airport in London, UK, as of March 31.

Aiming to cover the increasing demand for travels between the two destinations, Larnaca-based Cobalt Air will conduct the new flights twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

The route will be served by an Airbus A320 aircraft, which includes business class seats with a two-by-two seating configuration and a 40-inch pitch.

“We are further expanding our European route network by launching nonstop flights from Athens to London in March,” said Cobalt Air CEO Andrew Madar.

The Athens-London/Gatwick route will be the third direct service of Cobalt Air from Athens.

“The Athens-Larnaca and Athens-Paphos routes have become very popular and therefore we aim to offer Greek travelers more options and affordable prices,” Madar added.

Founded in 2015, Cobalt Air flies to 20 destinations across 12 countries in Europe and the Middle East.
