Greece’s natural beauty, history and gastronomy are presented in an extensive feature published recently on CNN Travel, the travel section of CNN.com.

Meteora, central Greece.

Titled “Best of Greece: Beautiful places and tastiest foods”, the feature refers to Greece’s landmark sites and locations, as well as the Greek islands, and includes a large collection of photos.

“The sun-kissed Mediterranean country has enough perfect locations to last anyone a lifetime of vacations,” CNN Travel says.

Written by London-based travel writer John Malathronas, the feature includes information on popular sites such as the Acropolis, Mycenae, the Meteora rocks, Delphi, Thessaloniki and Nafplio.

Furthermore, it refers to the Greek islands and specifically to Crete, Rhodes, Corfu, Mykonos, Santorini, Paros, Milos, Andros and Karpathos among others.

According to the article, “many destinations rely on a couple of well-worn beauty spots to carry their images as a vacation hotspot. When it comes to Greece, those picture-postcard scenes of blue skies, bluer seas and whitewashed villages are everywhere”.

Moreover, CNN Travel refers to Greek traditional food and spirits such as seafood; the traditional “diples” fried dough served with honey and walnuts, and ouzo, the aniseed-flavored alcoholic drink served with “meze”.
