Digital marketing services company Tool was honored at the Tourism Awards 2018 for its innovative Nafplio Virtual Tour web application. More specifically, the company received the gold award in the Technology Enhanced Experience category. “We would like to thank the Municipality of Nafplio that entrusted us with this project… We consider the city an open museum and believe that we contributed to the promotion of Nafplio’s cultural heritage and to the enhancement of the tourism experience of visitors,” said Tool CEO Kostas Karachalios. The Municipality of Nafplio assigned Tool to create a web-based digital virtual tour application, which allows visitors to discover 52 points of interest in the city through their mobile devices. “It is an application that all cities with a significant cultural heritage should have,” Karachalios added. The Tourism Awards 2018 ceremony was recently held at the Hellenic Cosmos Cultural Center in Athens. It was organized by Boussias Communications and Hotel & Restaurant magazine, under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and the Greek Tourism Organization (GNTO).
